Vickie’s mother, Kay Rose, receiving her Academy Award for her work on THE RIVER.
If Victoria Rose Sampson, Film It Now!'s founder, had been born a horse, she'd have been bred to win the Kentucky Derby. She was born in Hollywood, the daughter of editor/director Sherman Rose and Academy-Award-winning sound editor Kay Rose. Vickie grew up on film sets and followed her parents' footsteps into the film world - at just 20 years of age, she began her career as a feature film sound editor. Despite her early start in the film world, she still found time to earn a Master's Degree in Psychology from Ryokan College.

Vickie has over 135 film credits to her name, including many films that have become classics. Some of her credits include ON GOLDEN POND, STAR WARS VI: RETURN OF THE JEDI, ROMANCING THE STONE, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, SPEED, EVAN ALMIGHTY, WILD HOGS, and SEX AND THE CITY:THE MOVIE, to name just a few!

When she is not working on feature films as a sound editor, Vickie writes and directs her own films. CLICK THREE TIMES, featuring Emmy-winning actress Isabel Sanford, is a touching tale of a mentally challenged girl who befriends a homeless woman she believes to be her fairy godmother. This short film racked up an impressive collection of festival awards and accolades, including:

  • Moscow Disability Film Festival - Best Short
  • Hollywood Spiritual Film and Entertainment Festival - Best Fiction Short
  • Women’s Image Network Film Festival - Winner
  • SUPERFEST International Media Festival on Disabilities - Achievement Award
  • ZoieFest - Best Short Film

Another film Vickie wrote and directed, LAST CHANCE SALOON, is a look at one woman's attempt to deal with her everyday problems by escaping into a western-themed fantasy world. LAST CHANCE SALOON won Best Short Film at the Houston Film Festival. Vickie was one of only 12 women selected by AFI to participate in their Directing Workshop for Women, and this film was the result.

Vickie has won Golden Reel awards from the Motion Picture Sound Editors for her sound editing work on Pirates of the Caribbean, Under Siege, The River, and Romancing the Stone. She has devoted many hours to educating aspiring young filmmakers at Video Symphony and is an adjunct professor at USC's School of Cinema and Television. She also guest lectures about the importance of artful sound editing at AFI's Directing Workshop for Women and at various film workshops and schools.

She is on the board of and is a member of the Alliance of Women Directors and is a proud, card-carrying member of the Motion Picture Editors Guild, Local 700 of the IATSE. She is also a member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, where she serves on the Sound Branch Executive Committee.

Sweetie Pi is not convinced the hat is necessary to get into the Christmas spirit!
When Vickie is not making films, she relaxes by riding her rescued Quarter Horse mare, Sweetie Pi, in the San Fernando Valley hills. Vickie is an active supporter of various animal rescues and shares her home with her lifetime partner, Janet and their collection of much-loved dogs and horses.

She has two daughters, and recently became a very proud grandmother with the birth of Sarah's son Braden!
